Should I Buy A Fleshlight?

Should you buy a Fleshlight?
Written by Jamie

I remember asking myself this question years ago when I was considering buying a Fleshlight for the first time. It was not just about the money, but also about the idea of buying a sex toy for myself as a male. Also whether or not it would be an actual improvement over my so trusty old hand. When I once mentioned in a completely unrelated topic on Reddit that I owned a Fleshlight, my inbox flooded with dozens of messages from people of all walks of life that essentially all boiled down to the same question… should I buy a Fleshlight?

Well I bought my first Fleshlight about 7 years ago and have not regretted it or any of the dozen other Fleshlight sleeves I’ve bought over the years. That last part is not entirely true though, I have been disappointed with some of the sleeves I bought that were either uninteresting to use or not stimulating enough. Nevertheless they have always been a better alternative to my hand.

My First Fleshlight

This was the first sleeve I bought, the Pink Lady Original. Not that exciting anymore when compared to the options these days.

Now you might ask how a Fleshlight compares to masturbating with your hand and how it compares to the real thing, sex. I will try to answer both of these questions.
Compared to masturbating by hand you get:

  • stimulation of your entire penis.
  • much more feeling which makes it more pleasurable.
  • a penis massage so nice you will want to keep going for an hour.
  • intenser orgasms, seriously it is indescribably good.
  • no more Death Grip Syndrome
  • an experience that is as close as you can get to real sex.
  • better stamina training for when you do the real thing.

I would say compared to masturbating by hand it is no competition, the Fleshlight wins by a landslide. If prepared correctly, your penis will get a smooth wet massage from the softest material you have ever felt. You can even improve your bedroom performance by getting used to the wet stimulation of your penis, which will make you much less sensitive to the overwhelming stimuli of sex.

The Lotus is a good example of a very realistic sleeve, at the cost of being less stimulating.

How it compares to real sex is perhaps a less relevant question, but still a very interesting question in my opinion. Is using a Fleshlight anywhere near comparable to real sex? I would honestly say yes and no. If you decide to get a Fleshlight sleeve that aims for realism and you properly prepare it before use, then yes you can get an experience that is very close to sex. You are still penetrating an inanimate object and you will likely not forget that during use, but the combination of sleeve with a realistic texture, the wetness and the warm softness of the material will get you extremely close to the real thing.

The Destroya is a good example of a very stimulating sleeve, at the cost of being less realistic.

If however you decide to get a very stimulating sleeve, you could get an experience that some might actually call better than real sex. The reason why is rather simple. Although a real vagina is a beautiful thing, it is of course limited to a single ‘design’ so to speak that on itself is not that stimulating. When you modify this singular design, you can create some very exciting things. That is exactly what the people at Fleshlight have done. They have designed a range of sleeves that do not have the purpose of creating a realistic experience, but to create an experience that is so stimulating that it is out of this world. You could call that kind of stimulating better than sex I guess, but it is a very subjective thing.

So do I think you should buy a Fleshlight? Well if you are a male, then YES! It is incomparably better than masturbating with your hand. It will also give you the closest thing to real sex without a partner. • Hey Dean. About to buy my first Fleshlight. I’m having some trouble choosing though because my transition is gonna be a little different than most others. You see, for the majority of my masturbatory life, I’ve used a sock instead of my bare hand. While some people use socks purely for clean-up reasons, I use socks because it actually feels way better to me. I think it has to do with the fact that a sock provides me with a lot more grip and I’m able to control my orgasms on a much higher level. That said, I’m looking to drop my sock habit. Any sleeve suggestions?

    • Hey Mike,

      Thanks for commenting!

If you’re currently used to a sock, then it is probably going to take some time to appreciate a Fleshlight (or any toy really). Some people call this ‘death grip’ and it’s the result of too rough stimulation. Even the most stimulating Fleshlight sleeve is still very gentle compared to tight hand grip or a sock.

So I would prepare to be disappointed by your first few days or even week with a Fleshlight. However, once the sensitivity comes back, you’ll love it.

Recommending a sleeve depends on what you’re after, realism or intense stimulation but an all time favourite for most everybody is the Stoya Destroya sleeve: fleshlight.sjv.io/c/374417/311773/4702
